The Ryder Cup is a team format competition between the United States and Europe. The tournament is held every four years in the United States – don’t miss this bucket-list event.
MATCH PLAY AT ITS FINEST
The Ryder Cup is a match play format between players selected from both the European and United States Teams. Each team consists of 12 qualifying players, who are selected by respective team captains. The tournament runs Friday to Sunday with a match play style format.
Hazeltine National Golf Club has hosted the Ryder Cup before – 2016. Hosting the event in 2029 will make this the first course in the United States to host more than one Ryder Cup!
The Ryder Cup schedule format for the three days is the following:
- Friday – Four foursome matches (alternate shot) and four fourball matches (each player plays own ball)
- Saturday – Four foursome matches (alternate shot) and four fourball matches (each player plays own ball)
- Sunday – Twelve single matches
