2011 Augusta Recap – Another one in the books!

At 9:30 this morning the Princeton Group Team landed back in the Midwest after another successful week in Augusta. And what a week it was! After months of hard work there is no greater feeling than having our favorite sporting event of the year go so smoothly. For many of our guests, an April trip to Augusta is a big check off the bucket list.

After 75 years of the tournament being in Augusta, Ga, the locals have become expert hosts.  This year, luckily, Mother Nature was a great hostess as well. In years past the tournament has been delayed due to unruly spring weather.  This year sunny skies and warm temperatures greeted the thousands of visitors to the tournament.

Aside from the beautiful weather, welcoming locals, and unparalleled upkeep of the course, the golf this year was pretty amazing too! In fact, at one point there were five players tied for the lead and an additional four players on their tail, only one stroke back. Ultimately, 26 year-old, Charl Schwartzel from South Africa walked away with his, and South Africa’s, first prestigious winner’s jacket. Sunday’s play is one of the most exciting days in recent golf major history.
